BARBER BRAND IS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Dear Friends,

On Friday May 12th 2023 I walked into the barbershop to find that the roof had completely failed and that the shop was flooded with a very dark and unhealthy looking water.

The walls, floor and ceiling tiles were heavily loaded with water including much of my equipment and merchandise. As of writing this, water continues to seep through the ceiling and window ceils and is leaking onto electrical outlets, lighting fixtures and the floor - all ruined from water damage. Some of the walls themselves have been soaked through and although they are drying out, the development of rot and the potential of mold have started to set in.

Unfortunately, due to the age of this building (almost 100 years old) this is not the first instance reported (prior to my occupancy) in which water damage has taken place and until the correct and appropriate measures have been taken by the building’s owner I feel it is best not to risk the health and safety of myself and my clients.

The building’s owner/landlord is still considering options at this point but has spoken to a roofing company that reported that the roof is in-fact compromised and will continue to present issues with leaking and water damage to the building until the job is completed to the appropriate degree. The building owner is seeking a second opinion from another roofing company at this time, but regardless of the outcome, the shop will require time for drying out as well as repair and replacement of interior infrastructure such as flooring and drywall.

Due to these circumstances, I am left with no choice but to temporarily close the shop until the situation is rectified.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a specific timeline or outcome at this point, but rest assured, I will inform my clients as soon as I am ready to resume operations.

I am immensely grateful for your understanding regarding these issues, and I hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future when everything is resolved.

Thank you sincerely,

Chris Swartwood
